Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Tyn Y Big Holiday Cottage Limited (“we”, “our” or “the Company”) collects, uses and protects information from visitors to this website (“Site”), and describes only the data processing that actually takes place on this Site.
Who we are
Tyn Y Big Holiday Cottage Limited is the data controller for personal information collected through this Site. The property is at Tyn Y Big, Botwnnog, Pwllheli, LL53 8RG, Llŷn Peninsula, North Wales.
Registered office: C/O Burton Varley Ltd, Suite 3, 2nd Floor, Didsbury House, 748–754 Wilmslow Road, Manchester M20 2DW.
Lawful bases for processing
We process personal information where it is necessary to respond to your enquiry and to take steps at your request before entering into a booking, where it is in our legitimate interests to run and secure this Site and to communicate with people who contact us, and where we are required to do so to comply with legal obligations.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you complete an enquiry or contact form on this Site we collect your name, email address, telephone number (if you provide one) and the content of your message. If you email us directly, we receive whatever information you choose to include.
Technical information. Like any website, our hosting infrastructure automatically processes standard technical data when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to serve the Site securely and reliably.
We do not ask for payment details through this Site, and we do not collect special category data.
Cookies and cookie consent
This Site does not use advertising, marketing, profiling or analytics cookies, and no cookie consent banner is therefore displayed. We do not set tracking cookies, and no cookies are used to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites.
Your browser may store standard technical data required to load the Site. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Analytics
We do not currently run Google Analytics or any other third-party website analytics or heat-mapping service on this Site. Our hosting provider may produce aggregated, non-identifying server statistics for reliability and security purposes. If we introduce an analytics tool in future, this policy will be updated first.
Marketing and tracking technologies
We do not operate advertising pixels, remarketing tags, social media tracking scripts or any behavioural tracking technology on this Site. We do not currently operate an email newsletter or marketing mailing list, and we will not add you to one on the basis of an enquiry.
How enquiry and contact form submissions are processed
When you submit an enquiry or contact form, the details you enter are sent in the background by our website to a third-party form-delivery service (FormSubmit), which forwards the submission to us by email. The form does not open your own email application, and a confirmation message is shown on screen once your enquiry has been sent successfully.
Form content is delivered to our monitored enquiry inbox, which is hosted by our email provider. We use these details only to respond to your enquiry and to discuss availability and arrangements for a possible stay.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in a form submission or email.
Third-party services we use
We keep third-party services on this Site to a minimum. Those currently in use are:
- Website hosting and content delivery — to serve the pages and images of this Site.
- FormSubmit — to deliver enquiry and contact form submissions to us by email.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used across the Site are loaded from Google’s font service, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Email provider — to receive, store and reply to your enquiry.
Our Instagram and Facebook pages are linked from the footer. These are ordinary links: no social media tracking scripts or embedded feeds run on this Site, and those platforms only receive information about you if you choose to follow a link.
No online booking or property management system (including SuperControl) is currently connected to this Site. If that changes, this policy will be updated to describe it.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers described above, acting on our instructions, and where we are required to disclose information to comply with a legal obligation, to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our guests, our business or others.
Some of our providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting stay, and thereafter only as long as necessary for our legitimate business, accounting and legal purposes. Information that is no longer needed is deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to be informed about how your personal information is used, and to request access to it, rectification of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, portability of information you provided to us, and to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal or regulatory requirements.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
Children
This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Site or to legal requirements. The date below shows when it was last revised.
